Vital research on KS/XXY in the justice system. Please help!
The KSA are working with two forensic psychologists to look at why some KS/XXY people get involved in the justice system. The psychologists have recruited one of their MSc students, Harry Evans, to carry out research looking at the perceptions of those who have worked with KS/XXY guys in some capacity in the legal system – professional or volunteer.
If you are a KS/XXY who has had contact with non-NHS or non-HMPPS professionals or volunteers, can you please tell them about this research and ask them to take part.
If you are a volunteer or professional who has had contact with KS/XXY people , please take part in this research.
However, anyone with a family link to KS/XXY is excluded as are people currently employed by the NHS or HMPS.
We realise that many of you would be excluded but could you please pass these details to anyone whom you know who might be eligible.
KS/XXY young people can be particularly vulnerable, socially immature and naive. They sometimes get involved in situations they don’t fully understand and may come to the notice of the police.
This research is an essential start to the process of offering support and guidance in these cases so please help us by sharing this information with colleagues and patients.
