Treasurer report AGM May 2023

My name is Mike Green and I am the Treasurer of the KSA.

I would like to present the draft accounts for the financial year ended 31/03/2023.

Income was                      £24,779

Expenditure was             £21,616

Membership income

Member numbers continue to slowly increase. Membership fees have been held for several years. Membership income was £6,129 (£5,773 2022) Increase of £356 on previous year. Thank you for being a member and continuing to pay your membership fee.

Donations and Sponsorship

Harris Sheldon company donated £1,000 for the second year running

Paypal giving fund donated £833

Elaine Bennett held a black tie event fundraiser in aid of KSA in Bristol in March. Klinefelter Syndrome & Mental Health in Children. The event raised nearly £1,600.

Thanks to everyone who made a donation to the KSA no matter how small. Total donations and sponsorship was £4,684 in the year.

Grants and awards

A member had been given a grant of £7,000 but the grant maker could only pay to a charity. The KSA agreed to receive the £7,000 and then paid to Shire Healthcare towards the cost of an operation related to KS. The £7,000 cost is shown under medical costs.

KSA medical conferences and shows

The costs for attending British Endocrine Society conference, BeS clinical update, was £1,031.

Activity weekends April and August 2022

The two well attended activity weekends in April and August were a great success. The KSA provides a subsidy for members and their families wishing to take part. This year the subsidy was £2,541. Income £5,845 – Expenditure £8,386

Bank balances as at 31/03/2023 were £57,250

Educating and raising awareness in society and the medical profession

Accruals of £7,000 being the medical costs paid in early April

Deferred income was £2,350 received before 31/03/2023 but relates to the activity weekend held in April 2023.

KSA Net Assets were £47,900 as at 31/03/2023.
