Conference accommodation.
Special rates for conference delegates
Because there is a big music gig in Huddersfield on the same weekend as the Conference, I block booked accommodation some months ago at better prices than are available now. To find out your preference, I will contact everyone who indicates on the booking form that they require accommodation.
There are two venues:
- The Fortune Hotel – a Best Western hotel
- The Venue which is student accommodation
The Fortune has double rooms only (all ensuite) available at a cost of £53.10 per night. Breakfast is £5.99 each.
It is about 2 miles from Huddersfield University and the venue for the Friday Night Get-together. It has free parking.
The Venue is student accommodation with double and single rooms available. All rooms are en-suite and have shared use of a kitchen (between 4 rooms). Tea, coffee, milk and sugar are supplied but you will need to bring fruit and cereal with you!
NB single rooms do not have a TV but we hope you won’t be spending much time in your room!
Cost: £35.00 per night for a single or £40.50 per night for a double.
It is about 5 miles from the University and has free parking. The big advantage is that there is a regular shuttle bus to and from the University which runs until 11.20pm (£1.59 single/£2.50 return). This means that you wouldn’t have to use your car over the weekend.
Unfortunately there is NO PARKING at the University. If you drive to the Conference you will need to use one of the nearby car parks.
